The volunteers at Prairie Paws Rescue remind you to keep your pet safe and secure during 4th of July. Did you know that this holiday is most likely when pets go missing? Here are a few safety tips to keep them secure:
- Be sure your pet is wearing an updated and visible ID tag
- Keep fireworks and sparklers away from your pet as much as possible
- Leave your dog inside during fireworks displays
- Play gentle music during fireworks if your dog is afraid of them
- Exercise your dog early in the day before parties or gatherings

it's back: splash & dash dog wash!
Prairie Paws is bringing back one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, the Splash & Dash Dog Wash!
This event will be at RM Stoudt of Jamestown on Saturday, August 3rd. All dogs are welcome to participate! For a free-will donation, your dog will enjoy a nice bath, or a pet-a-cure (nail trimming).
Complimentary hot dogs and beverages will be served and Prairie Paws merchandise will also be available for sale during the event.

The Jamestown Menards is doing a pet supply drive for Prairie Paws Rescue! The donation box is located by the check-out doors at the front of the store. Please consider donating an item when you are shopping at Menards. Items needed:
- Laundry soap
- Bleach
- Greenies chews (petite size)
- Marrowbone dog treats
- Purina Pro Plan dog food (small bites)
- Master Paws soft dog treats
- Small dog leashes
- Cardboard cat scratchers
- Pee pads
- Menards gift cards

are your plants safe for your pets?
This Spring, be sure to check which plants are pet-friendly, and which plants may be harmful for your pets. Plants like Gerber Daisies, Roses, Spider Plants, Petunias, and Sunflowers are perfectly fine to be around your pets. However, Aloe, Irises, Begonias, Daffodils, and Tiger Lillies are potentially harmful. Refer to the full list, or you can read more at the link below.
